Flyways & FlyStops

This post is inspired by the NY Times article about creating a protected flyway for migrating birds.

All highways and flyways need rest stops. So I decided to turn my little patio into a rest stop for the feathered travelers. All it takes is a bird feeder, bird food and a bird bath. It is such a delight watching them feed, especially early in the morning

While my main guests have been the sparrow, the extremely shy song birds also pay me a visit. Haven't been able to take a picture of them yet. Hope to soon.

This is the gesture we all need to extend to our feathered friends everywhere. Wish we could get bird feeders here in India.

We are blessed to have lots of birds as guests in our yard. We've had our hummingbird feeder up for a couple of weeks, but just started seeing one, a female, a few days ago.
